UPGRADE A PARISIAN APARTMENT
CAMPECHE VELVET PROJECT
The apartment renovated by Perspectives Architecture & Design is located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The modernization makes it unrecognizable.
The overall condition of the apartment was aging. Built at a time when safety and comfort standards were quite different from today's, the apartment was entirely covered in wood paneling (as seen in the kitchen photo). The entire space was darkened by the wooden beams, and the lighting was inadequate and poorly distributed, contributing to an overall gloomy and depressing atmosphere.
Before proceeding with the modernization of this Parisian apartment, an essential upgrade to current standards was carried out. This included a complete renovation of the ceiling, updating the electrical system, and repairing several water damage issues.
Our interior architects aimed to highlight the apartment's full potential :

The orientation, with one well-lit area bathed in sunlight and another slightly shaded, creating a bright, cross-ventilated space.

The wooden beams, which add character to the entire setting.
L'OEIL DU DESIGNER D'ESPACE QUI DÉNICHE LE POTENTIEL :
Le travail du designer d’intérieur consiste aussi à révéler ce que l’œil ne voit plus ou... ne veut plus voir ! Dans cet appartement, plusieurs atouts méritaient d’être exploités :

Une orientation traversante, avec une pièce de vie largement ensoleillée et une partie plus douce en lumière, idéale pour une zone nuit ou un coin lecture.

Des poutres en bois apparentes, authentiques et pleines de caractère, que nous avons choisies de sublimer plutôt que de dissimuler.
En s’appuyant sur ces éléments, notre intervention a permis d’apporter cohérence, confort et clarté à l’ensemble du logement. Ce projet incarne notre vision du design d’intérieur appartement : faire dialoguer l’existant avec le contemporain, tout en créant un cadre de vie sur-mesure, lumineux et élégant.
Renovation of the living room in this parisian apartment
This apartment in the 10th arrondissement of Paris is designed for a single resident. We opted for a completely open living room that connects to the entrance, kitchen, and even the bedroom. The open space facilitates circulation and creates a friendly atmosphere, ideal for daily life in an urban setting.
The original wooden beams, while charming, needed a fresh look. Repainted in white, they now add a touch of modernity while preserving the character and charm of the apartment's vintage elements. Their white color enhances the brightness inside the apartment, reflecting light more effectively. Similarly, the kitchen is entirely white, further contributing to the luminosity of the space.

To contrast with the bright white and add character to the apartment, the decorative elements are colorful. The choice of Mah Jong textiles (Roche Bobois), featuring vibrant colors and dynamic patterns, has refreshed the ambiance while maintaining a warm atmosphere. All the decorative elements bring modern touches to the space.
The stove has replaced the old fireplace for energy efficiency and budget reasons. It enriches the space by providing warmth and conviviality.

Modernization of the apartment through custom furniture
Pour projet de design d'intérieur, l’ambiance générale repose autant sur la structure architecturale que sur le choix des objets et accessoires décoratifs, pensés pour raconter une histoire cohérente, sensible et personnelle.
Les appliques murales colorées, discrètement positionnées entre les fenêtres, viennent rythmer la perspective de la pièce tout en apportant des touches de couleur assumées. Elles dialoguent avec les assises vives du mobilier Roche Bobois et prolongent le parti-pris graphique du projet d'aménagement.
Au centre du salon, un tapis à poils longs noir profond ancre visuellement l’ensemble et crée un contraste fort avec le parquet, renforçant l’aspect cosy et chaleureux de l’espace.
Côté bibliothèque, chaque niche et étagère intégrée accueille une sélection soignée d’objets : livres, souvenirs de voyage, pièces artisanales, œuvres d’art… Un vrai travail de sélection loin des étagères sans âme issues de Zara Home ou Maison du Monde. Ce type de choix délibéré reflète notre conception du design d’intérieur : un style affirmé, mais habité. Ces éléments donnent du relief à la structure murale et participent à l’identité visuelle de l’appartement : entre minimalisme structuré et spontanéité sincère.
Enfin, au-dessus du poêle contemporain, un tableau photographique au style graphique attire immédiatement le regard. Cette œuvre centrale, placée dans l’axe de la pièce, agit comme un point d’équilibre entre les éléments architecturaux et les objets décoratifs. Elle renforce la dimension artistique du projet tout en incarnant l’idée d’un intérieur vivant, personnel et habité.
Modernization of the apartment through custom furniture
As part of this apartment renovation in Paris, a custom piece of furniture was integrated into the living room to meet storage requirements while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. It spans the entire length of the wall from the entrance to the living room. This multifunctional unit combines a bookshelf, a storage area (for kitchen items), and a zone for the television, effectively optimizing every square inch in a sophisticated setting.
At the non-negotiable request of our client, it was painted in gray, with shades that are also found in the custom furniture in the bedroom.
Modernization of the bedroom: an optimized resting space
In the bedroom, our interior architect Andzelika Szwedo favored clean lines and neutral tones to create a true haven of peace. The same shades of gray used for the custom furniture in the living room are reflected here, ensuring a visual and stylistic continuity throughout the apartment. These elegant and timeless gray tones form a sober and neutral base, ideal for creating a calming atmosphere. The subtle blue hues in the fabrics complement this palette, adding a touch of softness and serenity to the room.
The custom furniture in the bedroom was designed to maximize storage without cluttering the space. In addition to classic storage solutions, the bed itself has been optimized to offer even more storage space, thanks to integrated drawers in the structure. These clever solutions eliminate visible clutter, creating a minimalist and organized environment conducive to rest.
Another highlight of this custom furniture is that it also designs an elegant and functional headboard. This headboard, integrated into the furniture, creates a comfortable frame for the bed while adding an extra dimension to the room's decor. It also serves as a visual focal point, reinforcing the impression of coherence and thoughtful design throughout the apartment.

Grâce à notre intervention, cet appartement parisien ancien a été entièrement repensé pour gagner en fonctionnalité, luminosité et cohérence esthétique.
En décloisonnant les espaces, nous avons fluidifié la circulation et créé une pièce de vie ouverte et conviviale, idéale pour un quotidien urbain.
Le choix de couleurs harmonieuses, de mobilier sur mesure et de solutions de rangement astucieuses a permis d’optimiser chaque mètre carré sans jamais sacrifier l’élégance et l'ambiance chaleureuse !
Chaque pièce (du salon à la chambre) a été pensée dans le détail pour créer une décoration intérieure cohérente, vivante et pleinement personnalisée.
Le résultat : un intérieur plus lumineux, mieux organisé, profondément apaisant… et parfaitement aligné avec le mode de vie de sa propriétaire !
