COLOMBES INTERIOR STYLING & INDOOR PLANTING SOLUTIONS
MANADHOO PROJET
Our clients’ new home in Colombes included a 30‑square‑metre, glass‑roofed room flooded with light and anchored by a bold blue feature wall. Because the primary living room was located elsewhere, our brief was to create a distinct retreat that blended interior layout expertise with indoor landscaping.
We began by zoning the space—introducing subtle partitions and bespoke joinery that link the volume to adjacent rooms while preserving a sense of openness. Next, we curated furniture and finishes that echo the blue wall, amplify natural light and optimise circulation. Finally, we installed a layered planting scheme : suspended climbers, statement floor pots and integrated planters that soften acoustics and infuse the room with greenery all year round.
Explore the full project below to see how thoughtful space planning, tailored décor and lush indoor vegetation transformed a once‑empty atrium into the vibrant heart of the home.

The vivid blue wall visually anchors the room, adding a burst of dynamism and freshness. To balance its intensity, our interior architects selected neutral‑toned, clean‑lined furnishings that create a modern mood. A grey corner sofa and rounded coffee tables introduce comfort and conviviality, while bright yellow accents—woven through cushions and small furniture details—inject a lively pop of colour that echoes the blue and enlivens the entire space.

Defining space with a slatted frame
The centrepiece of this project is a custom slatted screen in wenge‑stained oak.
Composed of sleek vertical blades, the frame fulfils a dual role: it subtly delineates the room’s zones while allowing light to flow through, creating a fluid visual separation without fully closing off the interior.
Made to measure, it introduces a contemporary, sophisticated note. The deep wenge finish resonates with the rest of the scheme— dark parquet, industrial touches such as the stove flue and the stove itself, the aluminium mullions of the glass roof, and the window frames. This discreetly elegant tone also contrasts with the space’s brighter elements, namely the vivid blue wall and the yellow accents in the furniture.
Beyond its aesthetic contribution, the screen helps organise the room through a play of translucency and shadows that shifts throughout the day. It structures the interior in a subtle way, enhancing privacy between areas without isolating them completely.

Low‑maintenance plants with high visual impact
When it came to greenery, plant selection centred on aesthetics and ease of care.
-
Calatheas were chosen for their strikingly patterned foliage and the subtle movement they bring to the room (their leaves really do open and close with the day–night cycle). The large, green‑and‑purple leaves unfurl and fold in rhythm with natural light, adding a dynamic, living element to the design.
-
Areca palms (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens) complement them with slender stems and delicate fronds that lend an airy vertical volume without overwhelming the space. They’re also famously low‑maintenance.
Together, these species combine visual beauty with functional practicality, creating a lush, easy‑care green oasis at the heart of the interior.
