Venez découvrir notre réalisation / Brighton Wood / RENOVATION AND EXTENSION OF A HOUSE IN CHAMPIGNY-SUR-MARNE BRIGHTON WOOD PROJECT A pavilion from the 1930s We have refurbished the first floor of this building to make it more spacious. For this we have removed the partitions between kitchen and living room for a more open and spacious space. A simple bookcase delimits the spaces while the imitation parquet tiling marks continuity between the two rooms. We have also created bespoke, built-in storage and an additional worktop in the kitchen. Between traditional and contemporary We have used here the transitional style, a mix between the traditional and the contemporary. Our goal here: to enhance the old and succeed in keeping the spirit of the 1930s in the building. The elements of the kitchen are therefore essential. An old ceramic sink is matched with zinc and brass fittings. The pretty gas cooker between modernity and old reminds us of that of our parents and grandparents! On the ground, there are cement tiles reminiscent of yesteryear. Elsewhere in the apartment, the lime fireplace has been preserved and renovated, as has the old woodwork in the entrance. Our design team focused on maximizing natural light and enhancing the flow of the apartment. The layout was reconfigured to create an open-plan living area that seamlessly connects the kitchen, dining, and living spaces . We chose a contemporary color palette with warm tones to create a welcoming atmosphere. High-quality materials were selected for durability and aesthetic appeal, ensuring the apartment is not only beautiful but also practical for everyday living. The renovation also included modernizing the kitchen and bathroom , installing new fixtures, and incorporating smart home technology for added convenience. With meticulous attention to detail, our team successfully revitalized the apartment, making it a comfortable and stylish home for its new owners. A custom-made entryway unit This entryway unit was designed to meet our clients' storage needs while serving as both a seating area and a transition piece into the rest of the apartment . Painted in a chic grey-green hue, it sets the tone for the rest of the home , exuding timeless elegance and a modern, trendy vibe. The shelves (as seen in the photo on the right) create a seamless connection with the living room , allowing the unit to blend effortlessly into the main living space . This thoughtful design makes the entry both functional and aesthetically pleasing , providing a cohesive flow throughout the apartment . A living space without TV We always find it unfortunate to center a project around a cold, black TV screen when we could design it around human interaction, focusing on light and community. Here, an integrated projection screen offers the best of both worlds: it remains hidden when not in use, allowing full enjoyment of the living space . When needed, it unfolds for a true cinematic experience, offering the comfort of watching a film on a large screen while keeping the space uncluttered and open the rest of the time. An integrated kitchen space within the living area The kitchen is open , which expands the living area and allows for natural light to flow in. The gray-green hue of the kitchen further enhances its role as an extension of the living room , allowing it to blend seamlessly into the space. You can also find touches of brass and Art Deco design elements throughout, serving as a unifying theme for the project. A midnight blue bathroom The midnight blue color was the first inspiration for this small bathroom at the end of the hallway. The choice of flooring was also important. We are not in a loft, nor in an industrial inspiration. The codes are those of a warm apartment, which could be straight out of Alvar Aalto's architecture. It is in this sense that we have chosen a light oak parquet, very little treated, with rather thin blades. Development to purchase, decompartmentalization creation of opening. Art deco inspiration, then brass, forest green, walnut trend. Refined interior, fairly classic taste. Yellow for color peps. Reminder of nature with wallpaper and colors (forest green). Furniture a little 70s (Mad Men) SMEG... Current trends contemporary touches art deco, gypsy (caning and natural fabrics) and 70's. If the design is refined, the materials used are noble, natural, and warm. . Bespoke furniture The challenge of this apartment, after having opened up to the maximum and having knocked down the partitions, was to arrange a room with obtuse angles. So we had the idea of designing a piece of furniture that would fill that angle and make the most of it so as not to lose space. Between the living room and the entrance, therefore, is nestled a magnificent custom-made piece of furniture 7 m long, in walnut. On the entrance side, the storage unit is used for coats, shoes and golf clubs. On the living room side, it is both a TV stand and a storage unit (decoder, stereo system, etc.). We thought of this piece of furniture as a single element: common thread to connect the living spaces: entrance, living room, kitchen. The claustra, also in walnut, is a technical feat since it is frameless here, it was a question here of not having any visible fixings. It serves as a separation and also distinguishes the spaces: it closes off the kitchen. It is also intriguing when a newcomer enters the apartment. A modern Parisian apartment We wanted it anchored in our time, while resecting the sixties codes. Thus the kitchen is integrated as a “stage background”, and is connected to the dining room by a large library which also forms the link with the entrance gallery. Partition Inspection ("Visite des cloisons") : We attend the partition inspection 6 to 9 months before delivery , where we check the progress of the work. BEFORE THE HANDOVER OF THE PROPERTY Pre-delivery inspection (non-contractual, depending on the developer): One to two months before the official handover, we organize a pre-delivery inspection to identify any remaining work or defects that need to be addressed.
