The modernization makes it unrecognizable. The overall condition of the apartment was aging. Built at a time when safety and comfort standards were quite different from today's, the apartment was entirely covered in wood paneling (as seen in the kitchen photo). The entire space was darkened by the wooden beams, and the lighting was inadequate and poorly distributed, contributing to an overall gloomy and depressing atmosphere. Before proceeding with the modernization of this Parisian apartment , an essential upgrade to current standards was carried out. This included a complete renovation of the ceiling, updating the electrical system, and repairing several water damage issues. Our interior architects aimed to highlight the apartment's full potential : The orientation, with one well-lit area bathed in sunlight and another slightly shaded, creating a bright, cross-ventilated space. The wooden beams, which add character to the entire setting. Des poutres en bois apparentes , authentiques et pleines de caractère , que nous avons choisies de sublimer plutôt que de dissimuler. En s’appuyant sur ces éléments, notre intervention a permis d’apporter cohérence, confort et clarté à l’ensemble du logement . So we had the idea of designing a piece of furniture that would fill that angle and make the most of it so as not to lose space. Between the living room and the entrance, therefore, is nestled a magnificent custom-made piece of furniture 7 m long, in walnut. On the entrance side, the storage unit is used for coats, shoes and golf clubs. On the living room side, it is both a TV stand and a storage unit (decoder, stereo system, etc.). We thought of this piece of furniture as a single element: common thread to connect the living spaces: entrance, living room, kitchen. The claustra, also in walnut, is a technical feat since it is frameless here, it was a question here of not having any visible fixings. It serves as a separation and also distinguishes the spaces: it closes off the kitchen. It is also intriguing when a newcomer enters the apartment. The modernization makes it unrecognizable. The overall condition of the apartment was aging. Built at a time when safety and comfort standards were quite different from today's, the apartment was entirely covered in wood paneling (as seen in the kitchen photo). The entire space was darkened by the wooden beams, and the lighting was inadequate and poorly distributed, contributing to an overall gloomy and depressing atmosphere. Before proceeding with the modernization of this Parisian apartment , an essential upgrade to current standards was carried out. This included a complete renovation of the ceiling, updating the electrical system, and repairing several water damage issues. Our interior architects aimed to highlight the apartment's full potential : The orientation, with one well-lit area bathed in sunlight and another slightly shaded, creating a bright, cross-ventilated space. The wooden beams, which add character to the entire setting. Renovation of the living room in this parisian apartment This apartment in the 10th arrondissement of Paris is designed for a single resident. We opted for a completely open living room that connects to the entrance, kitchen, and even the bedroom. The open space facilitates circulation and creates a friendly atmosphere , ideal for daily life in an urban setting. The original wooden beams, while charming, needed a fresh look. Repainted in white, they now add a touch of modernity while preserving the character and charm of the apartment's vintage elements. Their white color enhances the brightness inside the apartment , reflecting light more effectively. Similarly, the kitchen is entirely white, further contributing to the luminosity of the space. To contrast with the bright white and add character to the apartment , the decorative elements are colorful. The choice of Mah Jong textiles (Roche Bobois), featuring vibrant colors and dynamic patterns, has refreshed the ambiance while maintaining a warm atmosphere. All the decorative elements bring modern touches to the space. The stove has replaced the old fireplace for energy efficiency and budget reasons. It enriches the space by providing warmth and conviviality. Modernization of the apartment through custom furniture As part of this apartment renovation in Paris , a custom piece of furniture was integrated into the living room to meet storage requirements while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic . It spans the entire length of the wall from the entrance to the living room. This multifunctional unit combines a bookshelf, a storage area (for kitchen items), and a zone for the television, effectively optimizing every square inch in a sophisticated setting. Creation of ambiance and architectural concept Chef Pantelis Miniotis highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients in a bistronomic restaurant aimed at an affluent clientele. Consequently, we designed the restaurant's decor with both the target audience and the cuisine in mind. The ambiance evokes nature and a "forest" spirit through the use of green hues and textured materials. Velvet chairs and a prominent use of wood, both light and dark, enhance this theme. The goal was to harmonize nature and design in both the decor and the restaurant's culinary offerings. Our interior architects faced technical constraints (such as columns and limited natural light in the lower-level restaurant), which required us to consider various lighting solutions. The choice of spider lighting emerged as the best option ! It is sophisticated yet reminiscent of the friendly insects in our forests, allowing us to achieve a wild, vine-like effect. Highlighting the restaurant's itchen With our goal of showcasing the kitchen and its chef in mind, we opted for an open kitchen design . A kitchen visible from the dining area is a true asset for a restaurant , as it highlights the chefs' work. The chef's movements and the preparation of dishes become captivating performances that engage diners. To enhance this experience, our interior architects selected a large glass wall, allowing patrons to witness the culinary "show" unfolding in the kitchen . This design choice not only fosters a connection between the diners and the culinary team but also adds an element of transparency and excitement to the dining experience . The design of the restaurant kitchen The layout of the kitchen adheres to the various hygiene and safety standards applicable in hospitality and food service, ensuring compliance with the cold chain. Our interior architects focused on the ergonomics of workstations, circulation, and forward movement to prevent cross-contamination. From the dining area , the entrance to the kitchen and the dish pass have been completely concealed and are out of sight from customers , enhancing their overall experience . The creation of the bar The bar is the first feature guests encounter upon entering the restaurant , and we aimed to create an atmosphere where patrons are greeted by a friendly face right away, fostering a warm and inviting environment. This design choice not only enhances the personal touch of the experience but also highlights craftsmanship and expertise through thoughtful interior architecture. The wood used for the bar reflects the cladding at the entrance and is incorporated in small accents throughout the restaurant, such as framing the kitchen and the tables. Behind the bar , we emphasized the beauty of wood by designing a custom piece that showcases the wine bottles . Instead of hiding them away, we opted for triangular storage solutions that elegantly display the bottles, inviting guests to appreciate the selection.
